Michell National Art Contest selects the finalists in the Watercolour Category

The XXXII National Art Contest organised by Michell and Co. - which aims to promote talented artists of Peru, has selected the thirty-eight finalists in the painting category of watercolors following the meeting of the jury led by John Pastorelli, Hernan Sosa and Silvio Ferrari.
Watercolorists who managed to qualify for this new stage of the competition must submit an unpublished work until no later than Monday, September 3rd, 2012, so they can compete for the first and second prize in their respective category. Entries must be original and titled, conducted in 2011.

It is important to mention the massive response and participation in the watercolor category this year, especially artists from the Southern Regions of Peru. The Jury highlighted the quality of the paintings of all participants, which made it difficult for them to select the thirty-eight finalists, who enter this second and final stage of the competition. The awards in watercolor technique are: Three thousand dollars for the first place, one thousand five hundred dollars for the second place, and three hundred dollars for the first and second honorable mentions, as well as respective diploma granted by Michell and Co.
The awards of the XXXII Michell National Art Contest along with the Textile category will be held on September 28 at the premises of "Mundo Alpaca," at Juan de la Torre 101, San Lazaro, Arequipa. The works of the winners will be exhibited from September 28th to October 25, 2012 at Art Gallery "Mundo Alpaca" headquarters Michell y Cia in Arequipa. Then, the exhibition will be moved to Lima from November 7th to 27th, 2012 at the Centro Cultural "El Olivar" Gallery located at Calle La República 455, San Isidro , Lima.
