Michell’s A/W 2013-2014 Yarn Collection to be launched at Pitti Filati (Italy)

MICHELL, the brand of Michell & Cia. S.A., renowned worldwide for producing the Finest Peruvian Alpaca Yarns, makes its 4th appearance at the Pitti Filati show in Italy from July 4-6th, 2012. Michell will show case of the A/W 2013-2014 Alpaca yarn collection featuring new structured yarns as well as colours effects.
Based in Arequipa, Peru, Michell & Cia. is a vertically integrated company whose activities range from breeding to sorting, scouring, carding, combing, worsted spinning and the dyeing of both classic and fantasy yarns. With a monthly production of 250 tons of yarn in counts ranging from 0.5nm - 80nm, Michell presents its collections for the Autumn/Winter season for hand knitting, machine knitting, weaving and upholstlery.
ANDEAN HERITAGE A/W 2013-2014
The inspiration for Michell Yarn Collection comes from landscapes of the Peruvian Andes, the Peruvian cultural and artistic roots, and the Michell’s legacy that goes back to 1931.
The "ANDEAN HERITAGE A/W 13-14 YARN COLLECTION" features classic and fantasy yarns, both light and bulky yarns, based mainly in Alpaca and blends with natural fibres including Cashmere, Mulberry Silk, Fine Merino Wools and Linen, and man-made fibres such as Bamboo, Tencel, Polyamide and Acrylic. These yarns are suitable for applications such as hand knitting, machine knitting and weaving. Each collection is presented under 3 lines: NATURE, FUSION and RUSTICA, each one aimed at different tastes and feels.
Michell will also be showing the "ECO ALPACA AND BLENDS" featuring both classic and fantasy yarns made of Alpaca, Alpaca Blends and Wool. This collection is made 100% natural and undyed raw materials with the idea to show that Alpaca is a renewable, sustainable, biodegradable and ethical fibre.
The "ALPACA STOCK SERVICE A/W 13-14" features stock Service in Peru and Hong Kong. The stock in Peru offers 7 qualities and the stock in Hong Kong of 4 qualities, in both cases in Alpaca and Alpaca Blends.
In terms of colour trends, Michell presents a combination of natural shades and contemporary colour trends, resulting in a unique presentations with personality and character. These colours are presented in effects that vary from classic solid dyes, mélanges, marls, hand paints to colour injections effects.
